Welcome to my blog
In its essence, meditation is a mental exercise with which, through attention, we train our mind to bring it to a state of peace, calm and inner serenity. Meditation applies a series of practices that seek relaxation as well as greater control of the mind, which is usually vulnerable to external situations and acts under the regime of pleasure and pain, focusing on training awareness, attention and compassion. In recent years, research has found that meditation can reduce stress and anxiety, improve focus and concentration.
Is meditation a "trend"?
Meditation isn't exactly new: it's an ancient mind-body practice known for developing mindfulness, increasing relaxation and improving overall well-being. But with the growing number of people doing meditation every day, it could well be the new health trend in town. Mainly because of the increase in metal disorders in the population, originating during the Covid-19 pandemic and the demand for mental health among the younger generation.
Meditation benefits
1. Rejuvenates and prevents brain aging:
Practicing daily meditation, helps preserve brain aging. A study by Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital has shown how, through regular practice of meditation and mindfulness techniques, increases the size of structures located at the ends of chromosomes, which are directly related to aging and development of certain pathologies associated with aging. This increase has a positive effect on the prevention of brain aging, and even rejuvenates it.
2. Increases concentration and attention span:
Many philosophical traditions and ancient sciences stress the importance of living in the present moment as a fundamental key to happiness. However, the human mind tends to wander constantly, getting carried away by the mental distraction generated by the multiple thoughts that our mind naturally generates.
3.Improves memory and other cognitive functions:
In a study published by the prestigious American Psychological Association, an experimental trial under a daily meditation program for 8 weeks, showed as a result a significant improvement in working memory in those participants who had performed the daily meditation program, with respect to participants who, as a control, had not been exposed to such program.

Thanks to meditation, we can start a path of self-knowledge, which helps us to delve into our inner self and allows us to access our true Self. Thus, meditation is presented as a powerful tool for the improvement of self-awareness and self-knowledge, as fundamental keys to advance in our personal process of inner growth.

I really like meditating because it gives me a sense of peace, time to process my emotions and helps to reduce stress. I meditate when I feel overwhelmed to calm myself down and think clearly
